Your Vote Still Matters — Even When They Try to Make It Invisible
I know this news is heavy. I know reading about the Supreme Court gutting voting rights feels defeating. Like what's the point if they're going to change the rules anyway.
But here's what I need you to know: your vote still matters. Your voice still matters. And the fact that they're working this hard to dilute it is proof.
If your vote didn't matter, they wouldn't be spending this much energy trying to take it away.
The Voting Rights Act was passed in 1965. Sixty-one years ago. And it took sixty-one years of fighting to get to a point where the court felt comfortable dismantling it. That's how powerful your vote is. That's how real the threat is to the system when Black people actually have representation.
So yes, be angry. Be frustrated. Understand what just happened. But don't check out. Don't decide it doesn't matter.
They're counting on you to give up. Don't give them that.
